The Real Thing for "The Real Thing"

I recently had the privilege of creating a bit of hand lettering (i.e. the real thing, not typography!) to be used as the title treatment for the cover of author Ellen McCarthy’s just-out, fabulous book, “The Real Thing.” Published by Random House, the book reflects on Ellen’s time on the Weddings beat for The Washington Post and offers lots of hard-won wisdom on finding love and helping it grow. It’s a must read for anyone who is either looking for love or wanting love to last. Working with Ellen and designer Victoria Allen at Random House to come up with just the right look for the title treatment was quite a thrill and I could not be more honored to have played a small part in Ellen’s huge achievement!
